Making Britvic’s social accountability standards more accessible for suppliers is now easier since Britvic have become members of a new database to share details of working practices.
The Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (Sedex) is a global database, which allows companies to log details of their policies in areas such as health and safety, employee welfare, diversity and working systems. In the past, factories had to complete individual audits for every new customer, sometimes at a high cost. The new database allows customers to access details online quickly, efficiently, and confidentially.
Corporate Responsibility Advisor Lauretta Taupin completed initial audits at all seven Britvic factories upon joining Sedex, and will now only need to update this information annually with each factory.
She added: ‘The new system will not only save time and money, but Sedex encourages us to manage and improve our practices.’
Graham Dale, Head of Quality, Safety & Environment says: ‘Sedex will help to demonstrate and promote the company’s people-focused policies, as well as identify areas for improvement.’
Nigel Wordsworth, General Manager at Hartlepool factory said: ‘The Sedex system will provide a great platform for us to drive and demonstrate improvements to our customers.’
Did you know that Britvic are members of SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) and has joined an industry-wide initiative (AIM-PROGRESS) along with other manufacturers to jointly work towards improving working conditions within our supply chain communities.
