Matthew Pritchard is responsible for a team of 14 in his ‘patch’ in the south-east of England. Between them, they look after around 4,300 accounts, including pubs, clubs, restaurants and leisure outlets. They are responsible for servicing and installing all the equipment involved in the soft drinks dispense process as well as servicing chillers and vending machines.

When a leading cinema group signed a deal to switch its soft drinks business from a major competitor to Britvic, he was responsible for ensuring that staff and film fans would undergo a minimum amount of interference during the changeover.

"It was a major challenge, as some cinemas had more than 20 dispense heads," explains Matthew. "It took teams of four technicians an average of four nights’ working to complete the job, but the feedback from the cinema group was excellent. My training in leadership skills through the line management development course certainly paid off.

"It’s all a far cry from when Matthew first joined Britvic as a temp in the logistics team. He later moved on to become a logistics team leader and then took up his current role in 2000.

"I have benefited from some excellent training at Britvic. Programmes such as the line manager development course really helped to equip me for the future. Now my role is about coaching and developing other people – equipping them to offer the highest standards of customer service. Judging by the feedback from our customers, we’re doing a great job."
