What she says: “I joined HR at an exciting time and have been involved in the successful implementation of the HR service centre which has enabled HR to add value to the business through introducing a robust foundation of core employee life cycle process.”

Gemma joined the HR Service Centre when it was launched in 2005. Although Gemma is based in the HR department she spends much of her time liaising with colleagues, employees and line managers across the business and is responsible for handling and resolving employee and line manager queries.

“I’ve had the opportunity to be involved in a number of activities and projects. I helped to co-ordinate the Annual Salary Review activity, which was a demanding activity at the busy time in the HR Service Centre.”

“Development opportunities have been identified for me within the HR department in order for me to achieve my full potential. I am currently working with the HR Policy Manager and supporting activities and projects within this area which has enabled me to be involved in a wider circle of activities and work with a wider number of internal groups and external consultants and organisations.

With the integration of the Supply Chain into the HRSC, I have also been given the opportunity to visit the factories and work with line managers and employees to create an awareness of the HRSC and ensure a smooth transition of their activities.

“I am currently in my first year studying for my Postgraduate CIPD. Studying on a part-time basis can be hard work, but the support I get from Britvic makes it easier.”
